We are the Masters of Our Universe!

Hello everyone, I hope I find you all well and rested from the weekend?

I have to tell you that I had a lovely weekend of rest and relaxation with my wonderful family. I did think this weekend was going to be a bit of a let down, as we had no plans, and after the busy weekend we had last week for my birthday, I thought it might fall a bit flat. As it was I spent Saturday morning catching up on chores (not so exiting, I know, but the end result always fills me with  a sense of achievement and pride), then I snuggled up on the sofa with my youngest daughter and ‘the hubby’ to watch a good film, followed by a scrummy dinner. Sunday was just as lazy. Tea with a friend in the morning while hubby was at the gym (I’m not allowed at the moment because of my ongoing back problem), pruning and weeding in the garden (I love spending time in my garden, even if I am working), we cooked a delicious Sunday roast, we all watched another film (Disney’s Beauty and the Beast! I highly recommend it if you haven’t already watched it) and generally lazing about like a sloth!

Oh, I also had a couple of lovely walks with the beast that is Archie (see below).

Are we going for a walk or not?

Aside from general slothing about for most of the weekend I did read two wonderful books. The first was As a Man Thinketh by James Allen, the second was The Strangest Secret by Earl Nightingale. Both books I have read before and shall definitely read again. The Strangest Secret was originally an audio recording that has since been transferred to eBook format but can still be listened to in it’s original format.

What I love about both of these books is their simplicity. There are no airs and graces, no pretence to be anything other than what they are. Straightforward, simple messages, that are as profound today as they were when they were first published (or, in the case of The Strangest Secret, recorded).

One of my other favourite books to read is The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D Wattles. This is another book I return to regularly. All three remind me that I have the power, WE have the power, to be, do or have, whatever our hearts desire. All we have to do is believe. Everything that is in our life now is there because of a thought we had in the past. Everything, good and bad, is here due to our own making. We have the power to create our lives and shape them any way we choose. It is us who control our destiny, not fate or our friends and family, not politicians or our employers, we are the masters of our universe and we have to take responsibility for that once and for all!

In James Allen’s book he talks about the affect thought has on our lives. How it affects our health, our jobs, our relationships and our surroundings. It is a great reminder that we must take more responsibility for our thoughts, for we are the only ones who can control them. It is us who decides if we have good thoughts or bad thoughts. It is us who decides our fate by choosing pure or impure thought processes. What we have created as our lives is solely down to us. If we do not like what we see we must change the way we think in order to change the results we get. No man can think for another. No man can impress his thoughts into anothers mind to change the way he thinks or acts. Only we can change who we are and how we think and ultimately what we create.

“Thoughts of doubt and fear never accomplished anything, and never can. They always lead to failure. Purpose, energy, power to do, and all strong thoughts cease when doubt and fear creep in……….He who has conquered doubt and fear has conquered failure.”

“As he thinks, so he is; as he continues to think, so he remains.”

“A strong man cannot help a weaker unless that weaker is willing to be helped, and even the the weaker man must become strong of himself; he must, by his own efforts, develop the strength which he admires in another. None but himself can alter his condition.”

James Allen

It is time we take stock of our lives and what we have created. Have we achieved all we wanted to achieve? Are we happy with our lot? Do we feel good about what we have and how we came by it? Now that is a question!

For if to achieve all that we can we have betrayed and hurt others, used our fellow man to meet our own gain, then we will never be happy. No matter how many riches we may gain or how much success we might have, if it is attained by devious means then it will haunt us for all our days. We will suffer in other ways, as the impurity of our thoughts and actions must come back to us. It is the law of the universe. What we think, we become. It cannot be that we have wicked thoughts and actions and not receive results pertaining to those thoughts and actions. Be sure, that in the search for greatness, you always hold your fellow man close to your heart. We are all born with a life purpose and that purpose should be for the greater good of all. We must all work together to help one another, work to improve not only our lives but the lives of others. To share in our knowledge and abundance for the good of all, there can be no greater blessing. I am not saying that you should give away all that you have worked so hard for or that you should feel guilt at your success. I am saying that what you do should in some way or another be for the good of others, as well as yourself.

We live in an age where we want everything and we want it now. Everything we have ever desired is at the tip of our fingers. There is no waiting, no anticipation. Everything is instant. Because of this we have lost the joy in what we have. Sure we have fleeting moments of excitement when something new arrives but it doesn’t last long and then we are looking for the next quick fix to feed our ego and stroke our materialistic desires.

One of the things I read over the weekend is something that touches me every time I read it. The words are so simple but so true. It is something we all forget, especially in the throw away society we have created for ourselves where even the most expensive trinket is but a disposable toy, easily replaced by the next big thing.

“Everything that’s really worthwhile in life came to us for free: our mind, our soul, our body, our hopes, our dreams, our ambitions, our intelligence, our love of family and children and friends. All these priceless possessions are free, but the things that cost us money are actually very cheap and can be replaced at any time.” – Earl Nightingale

These words never fail to touch my soul. How true they are. For we strive to achieve money, fame, success, material possessions beyond our wildest dreams; but these are but worthless idealism’s if we do not first appreciate what was given to us for free. For me the most priceless of them all is the love of my family. For without the giving and receiving of love we are but a shell, empty and worthless. Love is the starting point for all good thought. For when we start with love, our intention is love and our thoughts and actions reflect that, therefore what we get back, by universal law, can only be good.

Every Moment Matters

This week friends of mine have had to attend funerals of two young men in the prime of their lives. They were totally unrelated but the funerals were just a day apart. One was of a murder victim, the other was a young man who felt unwell one day and thought he had a bug, three weeks later he was dead.

Both circumstances so unexpected and heartrendingly sad for all involved. One day they were living their lives and planning their future, then the next it’s all over. As quick as that, no warning, just, THE END!

This got me to thinking about how much we take things for granted in our every day lives and how much time we waste worrying about the most trivial things. Our lives are consumed with going to work to pay the bills and, if we’re lucky, save for a holiday once a year or to treat ourselves to a night out or something new. We are stuck on a seemingly never ending treadmill doing the same old things over and over and not really living.

We take it for granted that we have all the time in the world and that we are going to live to a rip old age. That we will work all our lives to buy a nice house and hopefully have a little nest egg to retire with and that’s when we’ll start living. That’s the time we say we’ll have time to relax and enjoy our lives and go on all those holidays we always dreamed of. But what if that time never comes? What if just as we’re about to retire with your hard earned next egg, ready to start living the life you dreamed all these years of you drop down dead of a heart attack or you become so frail through age related illness that you never get to do any of those things?

What about all those people with long term, terminal illness? That could happen to any one of us. One day everything is fine and dandy, we’re trudging away on our humdrum treadmill, working for the man, then the next day some doctor tells you you have an incurable disease and they don’t know how long you’ve got! It could be weeks, months, years, who knows. That’s what happened to my friend and she has spent the last eight years on death row! I say death row because that’s what it is. You’ve been given a death sentence and now you’ve just gotta ride it out and hope you have enough time and can stay well enough to at least try to enjoy what time you have left.

So why don’t we live our lives?

Why do we just presume that we have all the time in the world?

What’s stopping us from living life to the fullest and making every second count?

Sometimes you’ve just got to live your life like there’s no tomorrow because tomorrow is not guaranteed. We are not promised a minimum of eighty years where we will have good health and a lengthy retirement. Today is what matters, so make it count!

Chase your dreams.

Forgive yourself and others.

Dance in the rain.

Do all the crazy shit you want to do.

Don’t let other peoples drama ruin your day.

Love unconditionally.

Most importantly, be grateful for every second of every day and for every person in your life!

Navigating the Maze of Life

Today I received an email from the wonderful Mary Morrissey directing me to her latest blog post. The post was called Setting Intentions: The Best Way To Navigate The Confusing Maze Of Life Starting Today. I know, a bit of a mouthful isn’t it! Anyway the post was about finding your way through the maze of life to achieve your dreams. Mary got the idea from her granddaughter who had shown her how she completed a maze type puzzle with complete ease by starting at the end and tracing her finger back to the start before drawing the route with her pencil from the start. Mary’s granddaughter told her:

“When you start at the end first, then you know where you want to end up, and it’s easier to find your way.”

Mary said that she felt that this was just like life, and I’ve got to say, I wholeheartedly agree with her. If we know where we want to end up then it makes getting there so much easier. Once we have a goal in sight we can plan how we are going to get there. We don’t need to know our way through the whole maze but we can start to plot our journey.

For example: I know that I want to write a book. I also know that I want to help people be the best version of themselves that they possibly can be. I’m already working on my book. I’ve started to research literary agents. I’m taking small steps each day towards my goal. I know where I want to end up and am making progress. I have also started some life coaching which is turning out to be very rewarding. I feel so blessed to be able to help people become the best version of themselves. I have only been able to take these steps as I have not been in my normal 9 – 5 position for the last few months and have had the opportunity to move forward towards my end goal. However, I will be returning to my job very soon and will have to find other ways to continue with my work and make my way through the maze.

The trouble is we don’t all know where we want to end up so our maze can seem like an eternal circle of confusion. Mary suggests asking yourself four fundamental questions:

  1. What do you love doing?
  2. What would you love to experience every day?
  3. What would you love to create?
  4. What are the problems in your life and what would you love instead?

Let’s look at these individually:

  • What is it you love to do? What brings you joy. Something that you would do everyday for free if you could.

I have a friend that loves to make cakes. I don’t just mean you basic Victoria sponge here, I’m talking top quality, Cake Boss, Great British Bake Off, Choccy Woccy Doo Dah, Aston Martin of cakes, cakes! Honestly they are the dogs kahunas! I have never seen or tasted cakes so beautiful. Now, my friend would do this all day long for free, and she did for a very long time. One day, however, she realised that this was her joy. She set up a small business from a purpose-built cabin in her garden and now she has a thriving business doing something she loves every day! Oh did I mention that she used to be an Olympic swimmer and that after she had retired and her kids were all but grown up she had a massive stroke and is now considered to have brain damage? No? Well it just goes to show you that with a little bit of determination and a great deal of passion you can achieve anything you want.

Not one of my friends as I couldn’t get the image from Instagram, sorry.

To be fair, I think my friend may have always been wired a bit wrong anyway and the stroke is just a ruse for her already wonky brain lol. (She knows I love her really xx)

  • What would you love to experience everyday?

images (23)

For me this is easy. I want to travel the world and see all the amazing places that this wonderful planet has to offer. I want to be free to jump on a plane whenever I want and immerse myself in culture and art and wonderful people. I want to learn all about the different cultures and religions, taste all the great foods, learn to ski, swim with dolphins, watch newly hatch turtles make their first journey to the sea…….. I could go on and on, there are so many wonderful people and places out there waiting to be discovered. I want to surround myself with books so that I can learn more than I ever imagined possible. I want to make it possible for my husband to never have to go to a job he hates and for my children to have every opportunity to become the best they can be.

What would you love to experience everyday?

  • What would you love to create?

Image result for what would you create

What would you create? Do you have an invention or idea that could change people’s lives? Do you have an idea for something that could bring joy to countless others? Have you got what it takes to inspire people and make them great? Can you make great cakes, just like my friend? Are you a writer or painter or dancer or designer? What’s you passion and what could you create?

  • What are the problems in your life and what would you love instead?

Is there something in your life that you would like to change? Are you in a bad or unhappy relationship? Is there something that you could do or want to do that could improve that situation? Do you hate your job? Do you want to move house, town or even country?

Think about these things, but don’t dwell on them. Instead look for ways in which you can improve or change things. Focus on how you would like things to be. Think about how happy you would be if things were as you wanted them to be. Look for positive changes that can be made or worked towards.

So now you know what the end of your maze looks like!

Or at least you’re half way there. Give yourself time to find the end of your maze. If you don’t know what you want it can be a little daunting and you can end up feeling like you’re just stuck going round and round and round with no end in sight! Once you know what you want you can start to make your journey towards your dream life.

Remember to use positive language always, even when talking and thinking about the things you are not so happy with. For example: “I am making positive changes to my diet everyday and am making progress towards my dream body” or “My 9 – 5 job allows me to pay my bills whilst working towards my goal of becoming a bestselling author”.

Don’t beat yourself up if you take a wrong turn, sometimes a wrong turn can lead us to someone or something that we need to progress further along on our journey.

Aim high, as high as you can. Don’t be limited by your habits and paradigms. Smash through those barriers and into a world you never thought possible. Nothing is impossible!

Image result for nothing is impossible quotesThink like Mary’s granddaughter. Children have no perception of what is possible or impossible. To children anything is possible. It is only as they grow and we, as adults, tell them they have limits and boundaries that their view of the world changes. We can learn so much from children and their innocent enthusiasm. So go on, unleash your inner child. Find the end of your maze and start working towards your dream life today!

Love and happiness

Five Day Feel Good Challenge! #5

Well here we are on our final day. How have you all found the challenge? I hope you have enjoyed it and are feeling good!

It’s surprising what we learn about ourselves when we start to really think about it and put pen to paper.

At the start of the week I asked you all to write down what you wanted to change about your lives. How these changes would make you feel and what your life would be like if these changes actually happened.

On day two I asked you to list what action you needed to take, how you were going to go about taking these actions and to set yourself a time limit for each action. I advised you to break your actions down into smaller, more achievable goals so as not to overwhelm yourself, but also because by taking smaller steps you reach your goals quicker and feel a sense of achievement which spurs you onto the next challenge in reaching your ultimate goal.

Day three was all about gratitude. Standing back and taking notice of the blessings already in your life. This makes you realise how blessed you already are and sends out a higher frequency to the universe, a frequency of gratitude and of having enough. The universe then responds by sending you more people and things to be grateful for! Gratitude is the No.1 factor in utilising the Law of attraction!

Day four was all about giving. My favourite part of the week so far! There is no nicer feeling than knowing you have helped make someone else’s day a little better in some small way or another. I was at the supermarket yesterday and there were no trolley’s. An older man saw me looking for a trolley and gave me his before getting himself another one. He didn’t have to do it, but he did. It was a small, random act of kindness that made my day just a little bit easier. What the man didn’t know was that I was really in a lot of pain and that small act of kindness meant I didn’t have to walk right to the other end of the car park to find a trolley. As it was I bumped into him again several times whilst doing my shopping and had some very pleasant conversation with him in the queue at the checkout. He was a lovely, cheery gentleman and he made my normally humdrum shopping experience all the more enjoyable. I left the supermarket with a renewed faith in humanity and continued my day doing as many random acts of kindness as I could!

Moral of the story……… random acts of kindness cost nothing but mean so much!

So, back to today. Today I want you to look back at all your worksheets from this week. The beginning of the week may have felt like a bit of a struggle, especially day two! But by today you should be filled with a renewed sense of joy having spent the last two days concentrating on your blessings and sharing with your fellow-man.

I want you to use that joy to raise your vibration and set your frequency to HIGH! Use the momentum to drive you forward with the plan you set out in day two. Start today to take those action steps towards your ultimate goal.

Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today! – Benjamin Franklin

As those of you who read my blog regularly will know, one of my dreams is to write a book. So to make this dream a reality I broke down my action steps into smaller more achievable/believable goals. I took the advice of the ever inspiring Jack Canfield and decided to write a page a day. This is an achievable goal, it does not fill me with fear and dread that I am going to miss my deadline and fail at the first hurdle. I don’t feel overwhelmed by having to write a whole chapter in one sitting. It is something I know is possible and I can fit into my day no matter how busy I am. Nine times out of ten I write much more than one page and this just spurs me on because I feel that not only have I achieved what I set out to achieve that day but I also exceeded my target. Each day I can see my pages slowly developing into a book. My dream is slowly coming together one page at a time. All those feelings I wrote about on day one are starting to manifest. I have moments of inspiration every day. With each page I write I can feel myself moving closer and closer to where I want to be. My book is just one of the things on my ‘dream’ list but as I see this dream unfolding my faith in God and the universe increases and I feel that I can achieve anything.

Start your dream life today and see how much you can achieve. Dream big. Nothing is off-limits. We can all be, do and have anything we want in life but we must take responsibility, take action and have unconditional belief and faith, not only in the universe to deliver but in ourselves and our own abilities!

Good luck!

Time to stop procrastinating and take action!

Whether you believe it or not the universe is always sending us messages and guidance. Whether we choose to follow that guidance is up to us. It is so important that we are aware of the messages being sent to us, they are guiding us on the path to our life purpose.

I am a strong believer in synchronicity and intuition and think it is so important to pay attention to everything that is going on around us. Everything, and I mean everything, happens for a reason. We are either meant to learn something from a situation or person or teach another person a lesson to help them on their own path.

We are being guided constantly to make decisions and take actions that lead to our life purpose. When we fail to see the signs or hear the messages we will continue to be sent more signs and messages until we finally get the hint!

I have been procrastinating a lot recently (a shameful trait of mine I’m afraid to say) and I have been sent many signs to push me in the right direction but I keep ignoring them and making excuses as to why I can’t follow the path I am being guided towards. Mostly through fear. Oh the dreaded fear. The stumbling block of so many of us. I often teach people to ‘feel the fear and do it anyway’, a great book by the wonderful Susan Jeffers, but how often do I ignore my own advice?

Well today I have had another ‘gentle shove’ but this time from myself!

This morning I decided to read my cards. I haven’t done them in a while and just felt the need. I chose my guardian angel cards as they are so beautiful and always fill me with a sense of comfort, even when the messages are not what I was expecting, or wanting, to hear. Below are the three cards I pulled this morning:

I really don’t think the message could be much clearer, do you lol?

This is not the first message I have received, I have been trying to ‘ignore’ the others. Why? Because I am a big scaredy cat! I have very little faith in my own abilities and if I’m honest I am terrified of rejection and ridicule!

There I said it! I’m scared. I’m frightened that the world will take one look at my writing and laugh in my face! “Who does she think she is, trying to be an author?”, “Who would want to read that trash?”. You get the picture. This definitely stems back to childhood and a demon I have not yet slayed. I’m working on it though. Every day I face another fear and walk right up to it, look it in the eye and walk right on by, sticking two fingers up as I go! This is just another hurdle I have to jump.

So because of the cards I have pulled I have decided it is time to stop procrastinating and get my arse in gear!

I have already started my book (some time ago if I’m honest) and have now decided to set aside some time each day to work on it. I have begun to put together some of the ideas I have jotted in various notebooks around my house and have made the choice to commit to my life purpose instead of just showing an interest in it.

I will let you know how the progress is coming along and will continue to keep you updated with my Law of Attraction journey.

I wholeheartedly believe in having a life purpose and in the Law of Attraction. I believe in intuition, synchronicity and divine guidance.

Watch this space……………….

Purpose

WHAT IS YOUR LIFE PURPOSE?

How often do I ask myself this question. Some days I feel clear about exactly what I am here to do. Others I feel totally lost. Most of the time I just fumble through day to day life with no real direction or sense of purpose.

Without purpose we can still lead happy lives. If we are content to just float from one day to the next, going with the flow. The problem with having no purpose is that there is always, ALWAYS, something missing. We don’t know what it is. But there is always that nagging feeling in the back of our minds that we are missing something.

WE WERE ALL SENT HERE WITH A PURPOSE!

Each and every one of us came into this world with a purpose. Before we were born we knew what we were coming here to do. What our ‘mission’ was. We had a clear plan set out in our heads. Our life purpose is a small part of a bigger picture to create a world of love and peace. Before we are born we know what our part in this ‘world vision’ is. However, as soon as we are born we become unconscious and we forget what we were born to do. It is up to us to wake up and remember our PURPOSE!

It never leaves us. It is always there in our subconscious mind. All we have to do is remember.

HAVE YOU EVER HAD THAT NAGGING FEELING?

Have you ever had that nagging feeling, deep in your gut, that you should be doing something? I distant memory that you can’t quite recall. An intuition to do something or learn something or call someone? That’s your life purpose trying to surface. You are being guided by God or the Universe (whatever you want to call it) to wake up and remember. You are being guided towards the right path.

What we do may seem insignificant in the grand scheme of things but each and every one of us has a small part to play. Each of us has a gift that works perfectly with the next persons to bring into play God’s master plan for His beautiful planet and all the wonderful inhabitants that reside here.

Why does the end of the world have to be some apocalyptic tragedy? Can the end of the world not just be the end of life as we know it. Did God not promise that we would all someday life in a world of love and peace and harmony? A world without war or hate or pain.  Why can it not be about a spiritual awakening?

ASK FOR HELP TO REMEMBER YOUR LIFE PURPOSE

If, like me, you are still unsure of your life purpose ask for Gods/the universe’ guidance. Ask for a sign that you are on the right path. Follow your intuition. Do not ignore those nagging feelings that you should be doing something. Follow your joy for this is a sure sign you are on the path that is right for you.

Take the first step and you will soon see that you are guided to things and people who support your purpose. The more you move along your journey the more confident you will feel and the more you will remember about your pre birth vision and it’s significance in the wider picture of a new ‘world vision’.

I have spoken before about the Celestine Vision and the series of books that were written on this subject. The second book in this series talks more about a ‘world vision’ and how we each play a part in it. Even if the ideas are far fetched and fanciful isn’t it a great idea? How much better would our planet be if we all worked together for the good of humankind and the our planet.

I believe I am slowly waking up to my life purpose. I am learning more each day. I am learning to follow my intuitions and ‘gut feelings’. I am taking notice of my dreams and day dreams. They all have meaning. They are all messages guiding us in the right direction, putting us back on our path when we stray. We can choose to follow that path or ignore it. In the end it will be a matter of having lived a full and satisfying life or getting to the end and feeling that we have missed our chance.

Do you want to get to the end of this short time we have and meet the person you could have been and feel regret that you did not follow instincts? Or do you want to get to the end and feel like you have achieved what you set out to do before you were born?

WHAT IS YOUR LIFE PURPOSE?

Love and happiness
